Caristo Armchair

Soft upholstery, exposed timber and a precise black frame give this armchair an unusually balanced character. The broad headrest and gently angled side panels reinterpret the familiar wingback silhouette without making it feel traditional. Natural ash edges remain visible around the cushions, adding warmth to the cool grey fabric, while the loose lumbar pillow introduces a relaxed, lived-in detail. Designed by Tim Rundle, the high-back Caristo places its contoured plywood shell and padded elements inside a slim tubular-steel structure.
Despite its generous seat, the chair never appears bulky. Narrow legs and the intersecting supports beneath the cushion create a light architectural outline, making it suitable for a reading corner, contemporary living room, bedroom or boutique hotel lounge. The detailed 3D model captures the soft folds in the upholstery, rounded cushion edges, wood grain and contrasting metalwork, with MAX, FBX and OBJ files provided for flexible use in interior visualization.
