TNK Office Chair

There is something pleasantly mechanical about this chair: the polished five-star base, exposed support structure and slim adjustment hardware are all visible, yet the overall silhouette stays light. A bright orange upholstered seat brings warmth to the otherwise technical palette, while the tall black string-mesh back has a distinctive patterned weave that gives the chair its identity from both front and rear views. The design belongs to Actiu’s TNK 500 family, created by Alegre Design, and combines an aluminium structure with an ergonomic backrest conceived to follow the user’s movement and support the lumbar area.

What makes this 3D model especially useful for visualization is that it does not read like anonymous office furniture. Adjustable armrests, castors, the central gas-lift column and the mechanisms beneath the seat are modeled clearly enough for close camera angles, while the orange-and-black combination gives the object a strong presence without becoming flashy. It would fit naturally into a contemporary office, executive workspace, meeting room or a refined home-office scene. The original TNK 500 received a Red Dot Product Design Award in 2012, which says a lot about how well its technical construction and understated appearance have aged.
