Cask Sofa

There is something quietly architectural about this sofa. Two broad rattan curves sweep around the seat and meet a rhythm of slender vertical rods, giving the frame an almost drawn-by-hand lightness. The design is Cask by Expormim, created by NORM Architects in 2021. Its real-world construction uses peeled and tinted natural rattan, with a 34 mm main structure and a finer 20 mm backrest. At 220 × 91 × 77 cm, the proportions feel generous without making the piece visually heavy.
What makes the Cask Sofa especially useful in an interior visualization is the contrast between that precise curved framework and the soft, relaxed upholstery. Rounded corners, an uninterrupted seat cushion and loose pillows soften the geometry, while the exposed rattan remains distinctive even from a distance. I can see this 3D model working particularly well in calm contemporary living rooms, boutique-hotel lounges, sunrooms or interiors that mix Scandinavian restraint with natural materials. The geometry is supplied in MAX, FBX and OBJ formats, making it convenient to bring into different visualization workflows.
