Atlas Copco CD65 Desiccant Air Dryer with Cerades (PBR)

The Atlas Copco CD65 Desiccant Air Dryer is a heatless twin-tower system engineered for industrial applications requiring high-quality, dry compressed air. With a flow capacity of approximately 137.7 CFM, it effectively removes moisture, achieving a pressure dew point of -40°C (-40°F), which can be adjusted to -20°C (-5°F) to accommodate varying operational needs.

This dryer features an electronically controlled 3/2 valve that ensures reliable switching between towers, minimizing the risk of breakdowns during airflow fluctuations. Its design includes large-diameter piping to reduce pressure drop, galvanized flanged connections, and nickel-plated wafer-type check valves. The unit is housed in an IP54-rated cubicle, providing protection against dust and water ingress.

The CD65 comes equipped with a user-friendly electronic control panel featuring a four-line display available in 23 languages. It offers service alarms at 4,000, 8,000, and 40,000-hour intervals, along with a general alarm relay. The system allows for synchronization with the compressor, enabling it to operate in tandem, and includes load/unload freeze contacts for enhanced control.

To protect the desiccant and ensure air purity, the dryer includes a PD pre-filter to prevent oil contamination and a DDp after-filter to capture desiccant dust. Desiccant bags are designed for easy replacement without spillage, and a spring mechanism secures them to prevent movement caused by pressure pulsations.

While the CD65 model utilizes traditional desiccant beads, Atlas Copco's CD⁺ series introduces the innovative Cerades™ technology. Cerades™ is the first solid, ceramic desiccant that channels compressed air through structured tubes, resulting in lower energy consumption and minimal pressure drop. This design eliminates desiccant dust, enhancing air quality and reducing maintenance requirements. Additionally, Cerades™ offers the flexibility of horizontal installation and a more compact footprint, making it suitable for various industrial settings.
