Chevrolet Corvette Carbon (PBR)

A few months back General Motors announced it would introduce a limited edition variant to celebrate the 65th anniversary of its iconic sports car. The Carbon 65 Edition will be available on the Corvette Grand Sport 3LT and Z06 3LZ coupe and convertible models, with a run of only 650 worldwide - including less than 50 in Canada.

Powered by the same LT2 naturally-aspirated 6.2-litre V8 that powers the rest of the local 'Vette line up, the Carbon 65 edition still makes an impressive 455 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque, enough to get the Corvette from 0-60mp/h in a surprisingly credible 2.8 seconds. The same LT2 engine is also found in the GMSV's Z51 Performance Package, which adds a bi-modal exhaust, adaptive suspension, bigger brakes, a limited-slip differential, front splitter, rear spoiler, additional cooling, and more.

Inside this special edition 'Vette you'll find Jet Black leather upholstery with contrasting blue stitching. Competition sport seats and a gloss-carbon-fiber steering wheel adorn the interior.

Exterior enhancements include fender stripes and door graphics, black wheels with carbon logo center caps, and blue brake calipers. Visible carbon fiber elements abound on the hood section, roof (on coupe models), rocker panels, and convertible tonneau inserts.

The car's 20-inch wheels are a carbon fiber design, using a high-pressure resin transfer molding process and "diamond weave" technology to reportedly deliver stiffer and stronger wheels than aluminum ones. This means that they don't lose grip in the same way, which is important for a car designed to perform on the track.
