Volkswagen Taigo 2022

The Volkswagen Taigo 2022 is a compact SUV sharing its underbody with the VW T-Cross, but designed to appeal to younger, design-focused drivers. Its coupe-like rear end helps it stand out from competitors and provides practicality along with an eye-catching aesthetic.

The Taigo's sporty roofline and large 17-inch wheels (optional on Style and R-Line trims) add an air of class. We found driving the Taigo to be a very pleasant and comfortable experience, even in the more energetic R-Line trim.

Its suspension easily absorbs most road bumps and potholes with little fuss, providing it with a secure feeling around twisty roads. Although its simple MacPherson strut front and beam axle rear generate some body roll when you're speeding through potholes, the Taigo otherwise offers quite compliant and comfortable small SUV performance.

Inside, the cabin is beautifully designed and expertly engineered. It boasts a solid dashboard that's simple to operate, along with an intuitive touchscreen system that's user-friendly and straightforward. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay come standard on all versions as well as a wireless charging pad and four USB-C ports for convenience.

It also features a number of active safety systems, such as autonomous emergency braking and adaptive cruise control. These help keep the Taigo on course in traffic and prevent it from veering out of its lane. While these won't guarantee you a crash test score, they should serve as a good starting point.
