Mercedes Benz New Actros

Mercedes-Benz's New Actros heavy-duty truck model is the newest in a long line of innovative heavy-duty truck designs to meet long distance and heavier distribution haulage requirements. It includes numerous equipment upgrades for comfort and safety as well as economical Euro VI engines for improved efficiency.

The new Actros is equipped with an enhanced version of Mercedes' Predictive Powertrain Control system, which uses satellite location data to optimise fuel economy. This system takes into account uphill gradients, bends and the geometric properties of junctions and roundabouts into account in order to avoid unnecessary acceleration or gear changes.

The Active Drive Assist semi-automated driving function can brake, accelerate and steer in all speed ranges across straight roads, slight curves and heavy traffic. It will even maintain your car's position in its lane if it leaves accidentally; if needed, it could even steer it back into it.

The cockpit has been redesigned to give drivers more options for information display. Drivers can choose between traditional speedometer and rev counter graphics, or opt for a more modern digital look.

Drivers have the option of either a large driver display with capacitive-touch controls mounted on the steering wheel, or a second screen with touchscreen capability located to the driver's right side. Both screens are operated through Mercedes-Benz User Experience platform which replaces non-critical physical switches and buttons with an interactive touchscreen interface.

Mercedes-Benz recently unveiled their third-generation OM 471 engine, which cuts fuel consumption by 4% thanks to an enhanced PowerShift Advanced automated transmission that delivers quicker and smoother gear selection.
