Tips for enhancing your 3D collections
If you are a 3D content creator, you probably have your own themed collections.
It's likely that there are more than a few.
You upload them to marketplaces, but they're still not in high demand.
"Why? How come? What should we do?"
We can help you. Read on to learn how to improve your 3D collections so people download and buy them more often.
Add a detailed description
The description should contain the gist of your bundle. The most basic. It is highly desirable to include keywords and tags (about 20-25 pieces, but you can do less) to make it easier for people to find. The description itself should be about 150-200 words.
For example, if it is a set of 3D models of weapons from the Second World War, then potential buyers will be curious to know about the content of the collection, some additional technical details, including the possibility of use in different engines and texture maps.
The bigger, the better!
Many people don't have much time to choose each model individually, so they prefer to buy collections.
So help them!
Make your collections as large as possible to attract more potential buyers.
Unfortunately, we can't tell you exactly how many models you'll need. It's all very individual. But if it's a themed bundle, diversified by setting or universe (sci-fi, fantasy), then bundling about 100 different assets isn't a bad option.
Create previews on a neutral (or close to neutral) backgrounds
Preview each model on a neutral background. This is necessary primarily to make it easier for you to show your content to your potential customers. It will also be easier for them - they will understand exactly what they are dealing with because their attention will not be distracted by anything.
For a neutral background, gray is perfect. Or white. And sometimes even black! You can add a small amount of lighting effects to highlight the models.
If you use a non-neutral background, the collection preview will look like a collage. It's easy to get lost in it, and that's definitely not what the customer wants - trust me.
...And the preview image should be unique, too
You can also take the time to create a unique thumbnail for your collection. It's even better that way.
You know, we recently came across a creation from a company called Kleaf. They decided to create a thumbnail consisting of a complete scene with finished models from a set.
It was Game of Thrones.
And it looked impressive. The content of such a collection is clear at a glance. What is more, it is clear not only its content, but also its real quality.
This option will require the most work and creativity, but it will definitely make the collection something special.
Well, there you have it.
Use these simple tips to improve your collections.
Oh, and remember that not all designers follow all the details: they may have great thumbnails but no description, or only a few styles in the collection. Use this to your advantage and your collection is sure to get a lot more attention.
And if you lack inspiration for creating new bundles, you can find plenty of references on our website (link). Photos of people and other characters in various poses and outfits, animals, objects, props, themed locations, environments, and more - all available for free and without registration.
We also have 3D assets for all occasions. For example, if you are involved in architectural design, we can offer you models of interiors, furniture, lighting fixtures, etc. There is also content for game developers - 3D characters, transportation, vehicles, medical equipment, tools, weapons, and so on.
