Misato Katsuragi from Evangelion (PBR)

Misato Katsuragi is the head of Nerv's Tactical Operations Division and daughter to a neuroscientist who suffered under attack during Second Impact. Additionally, Misato takes her role as Eva pilot very seriously - something which drives her passion for this role.

Shinji Ikari, the first pilot of Evangelion series, has been a faithful friend to her for many years. When they live together in her apartment together, she becomes an unofficial mother figure to him, helping to build his confidence as an Eva pilot.

Her sometimes harsh attitude towards pilots can be intimidating, but she genuinely cares for them on a personal level. She strives to build their self-confidence and have faith in them as Eva pilots, while motivating them to work hard in order to be successful.

She is an accomplished leader, with clever strategies to combat the Angels. Unfortunately, her fiery temper can quickly escalate into anger and resentment when her superiors don't follow her orders.

Misato is a trained psychologist who believes people are motivated by their emotions. She can be quite sarcastic at times, yet her insights about people's behavior and feelings are always genuine. Additionally, Misato understands the power of words and has an innate talent for saying just the right thing at the right time to help someone overcome their troubles.
The Manga

Misato Katsuragi's character traits and plot points from the anime are retained, though she does have some minor changes. Her relationship with Ryoji Kaji is rekindled during Rebuild 3+1, hinting at her relocation to Tokyo-3. Additionally, Misato kills Adam differently at the end of the story - instead of bleeding out and being shot by JSSDF forces, she detonates a grenade instead.
