Toyota Celica GTO (PBR)

The Toyota Celica GTO car is an incredible race-winning machine. It's one of the very few Toyota cars to have competed in the IMSA GT class, and it was built by Dan Gurney's All American Racers in 1986.
It's a front-drive Celica, but it has an insanely fast engine. The car's twin-spark turbocharged 3S-GTE displacing 2,090 ccs (1.4x the equivalence of the road going Celica's 1.8-liter 4T-GTE) is capable of producing 600 bhp at 8,000 rpm.
In the early 1980s, a partnership between Toyota and AAR began to compete in the IMSA's entry-level GTU class for engines under two litres, with a Celica that became known as a 'GTO' car from 1985. It would go on to take 10 IMSA wins and many more top-three finishes.
To celebrate its success, Toyota developed an extremely rare Celica LB Turbo - a semi-tube-framed racer that drew nothing from the production Celica's design and shared no mechanical characteristics with it. With the driven wheels on opposite ends and a race engine that could churn out 600 bhp, this absolutely bonkers machine sliced through wind and took a win at the famous Sebring 12 Hours in 1988.
Today, it's a very rare sight on the street and it will be sold at RM Auctions in Phoenix, Arizona. It is a one of three Celicas that were built by Toyota in 1986 for the IMSA GTO class. This car has the IMSA 86T-002 chassis number and is one of the most sought after cars ever to hit the auction block!
