BMW IX3 2021 is the company's first all-electric SUV, built on the same CLAR (Cluster Architecture) platform as other X3 petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid variants.

The iX3 utilizes a fixed-ratio electric powertrain, sending torque through its rear-mounted motor. This efficient unit boasts an 80 percent fuel efficiency figure from its 74kWh battery and claims to offer between 450-459km on the official WLTP testing cycle.

The iX3's low centre of gravity and rear-biased weight distribution give it superior grip in a variety of road conditions. While you can slingshot around corners with confidence, its oversteer will quickly be curbed by the DSC system that brakes individual wheels to bring it back on track.

With all this in mind, the iX3 is one of the more engaging electric SUVs on the market today. Despite its substantial weight, its suspension still delivers a comfortable drive and steering is surprisingly accurate; providing ample feedback to keep you in control even when not applying any power to the front wheels.

Inside, the iX3 offers a stylish and comfortable space to relax. The seats boast Sensatech perforated materials in either Black or Cognac; additionally, it has an optional Vernasca leather package available for its cabin.
