Impala 1965 ss (PBR)

For buyers seeking a big-body muscle car with plenty of performance power, the 1965 SS version of the Chevy Impala was an attractive option. This version featured a wide front grille with chrome-plated fender badges, rear spoiler, new center console with rally clock type electric clock and full instrumentation, plus it had optional air conditioning.
The SS was further distinguished with a special steering wheel cover, faux carbon fiber plastic on the dash and SS logos on the headrests. Inside, an expansive dash panel featured two circular pods at each end - left housing fuel gauge, water temp, oil pressure and amps gauges; right housing clock.
This numbers matching SS coupe is in excellent condition after having undergone a recent restoration. It boasts a 396 cu in V8 engine with 4 speed Muncie transmission, power brakes and steering, 4 season air conditioning, day/night rear view mirror, dual outside mirrors, locking gas cap, power windows tilt steering column and tachometer.
This vehicle is finished in Glacier Gray with a black top and includes factory options such as an L78 396/425hp 4 speed Muncie, AM/FM push-button radio with rear seat speaker, factory in-dash tachometer, Super Sport wheel covers and white sidewall tires on 15" Steel wheels.
This is an extremely rare and fascinating piece of American history. The original owner specified a three-speed manual transmission but failed to include the mandatory center console shift. Unfortunately, the seller has never attempted to start the car so we don't know how well it runs.
