UH-1 US NAVY BLUE (PBR)

The UH-1 US NAVY BLUE has earned itself a place among the world's most beloved helicopters. During the Vietnam War, its primary role was transporting and resupplying troops; however, it also saw extensive use in air assaults and airborne attack missions.
The Huey achieved fame due to its maneuverability and capacity for airlifting troops in large numbers through the jungles of Vietnam. It evacuated thousands of casualties, becoming one of the most iconic aircrafts from that conflict - immortalized in many films as one of its most remarkable designs.
In 1956, the UH-1 was first designed as a troop carrier but quickly evolved to carry cargo and medical evacuation. Additionally, this aircraft proved popular as a training platform.
In 1963, Bell Aircraft Corporation began production of a new model with an extended fuselage and improved engine, initially known as the UH-1E. This aircraft was offered in two versions.
The UH-1E was initially equipped with a Lycoming T53-L-11 engine producing 1,100 shp (820 kW). Later it was upgraded to the T53-L-13 which produced 1,400 shp (1,001 kW). Furthermore, it was redesigned for greater load capacity and better stability, helping reduce crash risks.
For nearly four decades, the UH-1 has served a variety of missions to include airborne cable inspections, missile security, distinguished visitor support, survival school and test support. Its versatility and power have earned it a place of honor within the Army, Navy and Marine Corps arsenals.
