Games that desperately need a remake
Old games are cool. They have a special charm, and you want to go back to them from time to time.
After all, we all grew up with them.
But you should agree that it would be nice to see your favorite childhood projects rethought. So that they retain their essence, atmosphere and cool gameplay, but at the same time become more beautiful and functional.
In this article, we will discuss games that could really use a remake.
The first two Syberia games
These two games definitely need to be remade.
The game has a very good story and atmosphere. Yes, the quests are severely outdated. And so are the mechanics. But if you rework everything and bring it to the right level, you can bring a lot of fresh blood.
And expand the community!
The Witcher
Once upon a time, long before the game that broke all records (yes, yes, we are talking about The Witcher 3), CD Projekt RED released the very first game about the adventures of a grey-haired monster killer.
The game was loved by many at the time. It was praised for the perfectly presented story, for the pleasant graphics, for the excellent combat. But most critics agreed that the action turned out to be too buggy.
However, the studio still hasn't given up the bad habit of releasing raw games.
Yes, Cyberpunk 2077, we are talking about you!
But going back to the first Witcher installment, it's worth saying that going back to the original doesn't feel like going back to the original. In the year 2024, it looks very outdated.
Like extremely.
But going back to the classic is very much in demand. We think we're not the only ones. So we can only hope that CDPR will please their loyal fans and one day remake the original game.
A serious remake. From the ground up.
Assassin's Creed
The first installment in Ubisoft's great series that launched the iconic franchise.
It has changed its paradigm a lot. The latest titles in the series are nothing like what it was at the beginning.
As for the original game, it is still quite interesting for gamers. However, the graphics are outdated and some gameplay elements could be reworked or improved.
Well, we think that this is a good step for the company to return to those very roots and please the most loyal fans.
F.E.A.R.
F.E.A.R. is a legendary game. No, seriously. It is absolutely unique in that it had a revolutionary artificial intelligence. Enemies don't just mob you.
They actually try to kill you.
They go around you in every possible way, they try to get in your back, they're not afraid to attack and throw grenades at you at the same time.
And it really feels like you are playing against real people.
And it's only 2005!
Don't we deserve to see this masterpiece, but in an updated form?
Yes, you can say that Trepang2 has happened recently. And of course you would be right. Except that it is only an ideological continuation of F.E.A.R.. Plot-wise it's a completely different game.
The Thing
The Thing was a real breakthrough game at the time of its release. Released in 2002, it was an impressive third-person shooter where the main gimmick was that your teammates could go mad with terror.
Or catch an alien disease and turn into a creepy monster.
And you had no way to control it. In fact, you couldn't even predict it.
Don't you think that's a very cool concept?
But of course it's a little hard to enjoy The Thing by today's standards. It's not particularly scary anymore. But the social mechanics and the paranoia it induces still look great today.
