Milkor MGL (PBR)

The Milkor MGL (Multi-Shot Grenade Launcher) is a repeating grenade launcher that originated from South Africa. It is one of the most common stand-alone grenade launchers in use worldwide, surpassed only by the US M79 and German HK 69.
It is a revolver-style grenade launcher that fires six 40x46mm rounds. It can be loaded and unloaded quickly to maintain a high rate of fire. The drum magazine can be rotated 360 degrees before or after reloading, and grenades are loaded by swinging the frame assembly out to load them into the cylinder one at a time.
A spring-driven cylinder automatically rotates and aligns with the grenade. However, the cylinder must be wound back up after each round is fired. This process is a bit slower than with the MM-1 but much faster than with a conventional grenade launcher such as the M203.
This design minimizes maintenance while allowing the weapon to be serviced easily, with a minimum of workshop work. Several upgrades have been made over the years that make the MGL more reliable and easier to maintain, including a redesign of some component groups that simplify parts replacement.
The MGL is chambered to fire 37/38mm less-lethal rounds as well as HE, HEAT, anti-riot baton, and irritant rounds. The MGL can be used as a standard-issue grenade launcher in the armed forces of more than 30 countries, and is also in use with the United States Marine Corps and USSOCOM as the M32 Multi-shot Grenade Launcher.
