PL-15 Missile (PBR)

Chinese air force fighters employ the PL-15 Missile (CH-AA-10a). This missile is capable of striking at long range bombers, aircraft and helicopters. As the first air-to-air missile to use an AESA radar for guidance, its range exceeds 200km.
Since 2016, this weapon has been seen on many Chinese fighters, such as the J-20 fifth-generation and J-10C/J-16. Additionally, a J-11B model of this weapon was seen and it is expected to be employed on the J-15 carrier-based jet as well.
According to reports, the PL-15 can reach speeds of over Mach 5; this poses a serious danger for both the United States and its allies due to its size and potential to quickly penetrate enemy air defenses.
China's defence sector is working on the development of the PL-15 air-to-air missile. This weapon, created through a joint Air Force and Navy program, has already been described by senior officers as a major issue.
This missile's dual-pulsed solid fuel rocket motor could reach a top speed of Mach 5+, which could be enough to penetrate enemy air defences at a distance. Estimates place its range at more than 200km, making it an important weapon for China and its allies.
The PL-15 can use active radar homing to guide on targets, though this may be disrupted by enemy jamming signals. In certain circumstances, however, it may be able to switch over to passive homing mode; especially useful for stealthy aircraft that conceal weapons inside their internal bays.
Realistic GameReady 3d-model for any projects. PBR-textures included.
