Pistol Browning (PBR)

John Moses Browning (January 21, 1855 - January 23, 1926), born in Ogden, Utah and the son of a gunsmith, had an illustrious career designing single-shot rifles, pump-action and lever-action shotguns, machine guns and semi-automatic pistols. His designs included some of history's most renowned firearms such as Colt M1911.45 ACP pistol, Browning Hi-Power and M1917 water-cooled machine gun.
The Browning Hi-Power was one of the first pistols ever designed with a short recoil principle, in which both barrel and slide move together for a short distance before unlocking. This allowed it to shoot farther than most other pistols of its era could.
Its ease of assembly and upkeep made it a popular choice for warlord militias. State-run arsenals and local craftsmen eventually copied the design, leading to its acceptance as an everyday firearm in the United States.
FN produced the Hi-Power during World War II, and it is still in production today. Nationalist China purchased 180,000 of them before the conflict started, while Britain ordered 50,000.
After the war, FN had ceased operations and Canadian firm John Inglis and Company began producing the weapon using plans smuggled out of Belgium by Dieudonne Saive. They also produced a version with adjustable sights and an attachable shoulder stock for convenience.
Although the original Browning Hi-Power wasn't a commercial success, it has undergone many improvements over time - such as cold hammer-forged barrels to improve accuracy and durability. The latest version remains highly accurate and reasonably priced, making it an ideal option for those seeking a pistol that will serve them well for years to come.
