Cotoneaster lucidus 3

Cotoneaster lucidus is a widely beloved shrub in landscape settings, offering foliage and flowers year round while attracting various wildlife species. The flowers serve as nectar for bees and birds alike, while its tiny red berries provide winter food for many types of animals and insects.
Propagating cotoneaster plants
The most efficient way to start cotoneaster plants is by sowing seeds. Although you can sow directly into the garden, mixing the seeds with some sand helps them germinate better and helps the soil spread evenly over them; plus, it slows evaporation too!
Plant in a sunny location, preferably sheltered from direct sunlight. Water regularly but not excessively, allowing the soil to dry slightly between waterings.
Regular pruning encourages lush foliage and helps keep the plant in shape. Trim branches back before new growth appears or after flowering to reduce berry numbers.
