Alfa Romeo Montreal

Conceived by legendary designer Marcello Gandini, this 2+2 coupe was intended solely as a styling exercise and never intended for production. At the 1967 Expo in Montreal, it sat atop of Alfa Romeo stand with no name attached and turned heads with bold headlight louvers, low hood flowing into greenhouse, thick C-pillars holding vertical black slats serving as visual statement.
Though most concept cars were modified before production, the Montreal stood out. Instead of using a 1600cc four cylinder like its show car counterpart, it gained access to Carlo Chiti's exotic Tipo33 V8 sports racer engine - 2593cc all aluminium dry sump design coupled with 5-speed ZF gearbox with dog-leg first gear and limited slip differential at the rear for added grip and performance.
The Montreal was a car with plenty of personality, but wasn't as impressive in terms of performance as it looked or sounded. It was more of a GT than supercar and faced stiff competition from Porsche 911s and Jaguar E-types back then.
This example, finished in a stunning orange with black houndstooth interior, is in immaculate condition. It's been lovingly cared for by an enthusiastic enthusiast who has kept it well-sorted and maintained - making it an exemplary example to drive or display proudly in your garage! Now all that remains is finding the right home for this stunning classic!
3d-model is executed in detail and quality. Textures collected in the archive.
