Texturing and modeling tips for making mobile games

The most important rule when creating mobile games is to remember that you are not making them for yourself, but for someone else. Remember also that mobile devices are not PCs or even laptops, so always pay attention to scale. Everything should fit neatly and concisely under the small display of the phone. Mobile games are played on small screens, so you can sometimes minimize the detail work.
When it comes to modeling and texturing games for smartphones, you should focus on:
- Assertiveness - the most important things should be moved to the foreground and other elements omitted (if possible);
- Recognizability - the player should understand at a glance what object is in front of him and what it is for.
- Readability of content - the player should understand the difference between an enemy and an ally, an obstacle and a bonus, etc.
- Gameplay aspects - if you're making a game for casual players, the style of play should be different than what would be intended for hardcore players. Models and textures should be chosen accordingly.
